About Me
Josh McCarthy is a graphic designer with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Merrimack College. His experience encompasses a wide variety of design, illustration, and animation projects. Notable works include a promotional animated sequence created for a published author to advertise her children’s book, an album cover design and visualizer for a recording artist to promote his music, and a rebranded website design for a school. Josh is also the creator of his own animated series called EasternCoast. Additionally, he has worked on design plans for drum heads, business cards, banners, and more. He welcomes any inquiries and looks forward to collaborating with others.
Brand Design
Great brands are made when they have clear communication. This project was to fix the advertising for the Boston Design Week 2023. The website did not reflect interest in Design or art. The color scheme was also bland and unattractive. With that in mind, I had decided to make the logo bold, bright, and exciting for designers.
Web Design
With my experience with Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace and Go Daddy. I've been able to reconstruct many websites. I understand what goes into wireframing and planning the layout of a website. One of the websites I had worked on was for The Strand Dover. They needed a redesign as the website lacked engagement. Neon Wave needed a website for booking and tour dates.
Album Design
Listening to music has always been a passion of mine and I am fascinated by the art production that goes behind it. My first album design was for Jake Moralez who is an R & B Musician. Not only did I format the album cover I also created the visualizers, promos, and the spotify banner. In order to further express the music the art must speak for itself.
Animation
Ever since I was little I have always wanted to create my own animated series. Bringing characters to life is one of my favorite things to do. Creating a world that doesn't exist or finding a way to convey a story. Since 2016, I have been working on a project called "EasternCoast" where I have created many drawings and videos to post on social media. However, recently I had released the trailer to EasternCoast Raid & Plunder which will be the first official episode of EasternCoast released on YouTube.
